The section labelled Szechuan is the most interesting thing here, because much of what sits in it is not Szechuan at all. It is where the kitchen's wider Asian range lives: Thai green and red curries lettered by protein through chicken, beef, king prawn and lamb, Thai sweet chilli across the same four, teriyaki dishes including sliced fillet steak, Singapore-style chicken and king prawn, Yum Yum chicken, pork and king prawn, and three tofu preparations. The Peking board is the other strength, running to fillet steak with ginger and spring onion, squid with salt and pepper or in black bean, king prawn in honey sauce and chicken marinated in honey and spices. Set meals are framed as feasts — a Peking Feast, a Szechuan Feast and a Chop Suey Feast, all for two — with single-person meals available in six proteins. Lamb gets its own short list, including a Singapore lamb, and desserts are toffee apple, banana and pineapple.
