Birashwamys has been a fixture in the Barkingside dining scene since 1970, when it first opened in Essex and began building a reputation for traditional Indian cooking that has lasted more than fifty years. Now based at Broadway Market on Fencepiece Road, the fully licensed and air-conditioned restaurant specialises in balti, biryani, Persian-inflected dishes and tandoori grills. The kitchen is halal-certified and extends to an Indian peri peri offering that reflects the evolving tastes of its east London audience. Evenings run into the small hours Wednesday through Sunday, with a late-night licence that makes it one of the few sit-down Indian restaurants in the area still serving past midnight.
