Terrible, was served by a Christina who insisted on being rude and petulant. Food was, putting it mildly, a disaster.
About Happy Palace
Happy Palace on Tranent's High Street runs six evenings a week — closed Tuesdays — from premises at the upper end of the town, away from the Bridge Street cluster of competing takeaways. Restaurant Guru reviewers give it 4.1 out of 5, and at least one customer calls it a brilliant takeaway without qualification. The menu covers the standard Cantonese-British repertoire: starters including spring rolls and wonton soup, mains in curry, black bean and sweet-and-sour sauces, and combination boxes for families. Tranent is a former mining town in East Lothian's commuter belt, and Happy Palace serves the residential streets at the top of the High Street that are a walk away from the Bridge Street options.
