About Acme Fire Cult

Acme Fire Cult is a dramatic open-fire restaurant set in a former car park on Abbot Street in Dalston, from chef Andrew Clarke, and one of the most exciting and distinctive restaurant spaces in East London. Set alongside 40FT Brewery and Dusty Knuckle, it is exactly the kind of destination that makes the Dalston railway arches one of the most compelling food destinations in London. Roadbook recommends it for "legendary meat plates spotlighting native and rare breeds, all sourced from regenerative farms in the UK," while Hot Dinners praises the covered terrace -- one of the best al fresco dining spaces in Hackney -- and the Sunday lunch in particular.

The cooking takes place over an impressive open fire grill, with meats from named regenerative farms taking centre stage alongside vegetables that genuinely hold their own: celeriac, squash and aubergines cooked directly on hot smoky coals develop a depth of flavour that mere roasting cannot replicate. The 40FT Brewery beers are the natural accompaniment. Walk-ins welcome; no reservations. A space where both committed carnivores and vegetable enthusiasts leave equally satisfied. Open daily.
