About Lahori Nihaari
Lahori Nihaari is a no-frills Pakistani restaurant on Plashet Grove in East Ham, described by Londonist as a landmark destination for lamb nihari -- Pakistan's national dish -- and celebrated by Yelp reviewers as "an absolute hidden gem just off Green Street." Completely without pretension, Lahori Nihaari has built a fiercely loyal local following by concentrating on doing a small number of dishes with outstanding authenticity and consistency. One Yelp reviewer called the lamb karahi "one of the best lamb dishes I've ever had in any restaurant of any cuisine."
The flagship dish is the nihari: a rich, unctuous slow-cooked stew of lamb in a complex medley of spices, served with the restaurant's famous kulcha naan -- simultaneously crispy and fluffy -- which is the essential accompaniment. The menu also covers dal maash, haleem, lamb karahi, seekh kebab and Pakistani breakfast on weekends. Halal. Outstanding value for money. "I often get asked by foreigners where's the best place to eat and I always direct them here" -- Yelp.
