Mambow

Mambow is one of the most celebrated restaurants in London -- the permanent Clapton home of chef Abby Lee and Vanessa Fernandes's modern Malaysian restaurant, awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2026 and named Time Out's Best Restaurant in London 2024. The Good Food Guide also named it Best Local Restaurant in London. Having built a devoted following through a market stall in Peckham, Mambow found its forever home at 78 Lower Clapton Road in late 2023, bringing its exhilarating Malaysian cooking to a 40-cover restaurant with an open kitchen, 20 seats inside and 20 on a garden terrace. The Michelin Guide describes the food as "exhilarating dishes inspired by Abby's family recipes" served alongside natural wines.

The monthly-changing menu draws on chef Abby Lee's Peranakan heritage and training at Le Cordon Bleu and Michelin-starred Pashàn in Puglia, producing Malaysian dishes of astonishing balance with occasional global technique and British ingredients. Signature dishes include the otak-otak prawn toast, squid stuffed with pork belly mince, charcoal-grilled sardines with pomelo and fried shallot salad, and the Kerabu section of salads.
