About Tempo
Tempo is a thrillingly assured new-wave Asian restaurant on Paradise Row in Bethnal Green, opened in early 2026 to immediate critical acclaim. The concept comes from two East London food and drink heavyweights: chef Eric Wan, who built a stellar reputation running the highly-regarded Vietnamese supper club Lá Lốt after leaving Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, and restaurateur Dan Long, the force behind the stupidly popular Dan's wine bar in Dalston. The result, in Hot Dinners' words, "sets the bar for 2026 very high" -- thrillingly good food at Bethnal Green prices, with a wine offering to match the best in London.
The kitchen draws on Vietnamese culinary traditions through a contemporary lens, producing South East Asian-influenced dishes with precision and personality. Front of house is run by alumni of Dorian and Noble Rot, and the wine list is presided over by Dan and Isobel McFadden (ex-Noble Rot, Dorian, Chin Chin Sydney) with a selection of natural and low-intervention wines including some exceptional options by the glass. The restaurant sits on Paradise Row beside cocktail bar All My Gods. Open for dinner only.
