Oaxacan Bar

Oaxacan Bar is a Mexican-inspired mezcal and agave cocktail bar that opened in 2025 on Bethnal Green Road, taking over the former Alfie's site and bringing a serious cocktail programme rooted in the traditions of Oaxaca -- the southern Mexican state that is the spiritual home of mezcal. The cocktail list was developed by the team behind one of the World's Best Bars, bringing global-level expertise to a Bethnal Green neighbourhood setting, alongside food snacks created by a top chef.

The drinks list focuses on mezcal, tequila and agave-based spirits and cocktails, drawing on Oaxacan ingredients and flavours -- smoky, complex and botanically rich. A short menu of Mexican-inspired snacks accompanies the drinks. The bar brings an ambitious and distinctive drinks concept to a stretch of Bethnal Green Road that is fast becoming one of E2's most interesting independent bar destinations.
