Roe

Roe is a vast, three-storey waterside restaurant at Wood Wharf in Canary Wharf from the team behind Fallow -- one of London's most acclaimed zero-waste restaurants. The Nudge describes it as following "a nose-to-tail and root-to-stem philosophy, with highly impressive results," complete with 3D-printed mushroom-inspired interiors and a fabulous al fresco terrace overlooking the South Dock canal. Hot Dinners places it among the very best restaurants in the area, noting the "seasonal, local and no-waste ethos" that carries over from Fallow into a much larger space with multiple private hire rooms and a landmark waterfront presence.

The menu is built around skewers, mixed grills and small plates: snail vindaloo flatbreads, octopus and samphire skewers, and the ROE mixed grill featuring bone-in venison loin, harissa marinated haunch, venison koftas and spiced sausages with smoked plum ketchup, garlic aioli and fermented chilli sauce. The name is a deliberate double-meaning -- roe (a male deer, an ethical British meat source) and ROE (Return on Equity, a nod to the Canary Wharf setting).
