About Whitechapel Gallery Dining Room
The Whitechapel Gallery Dining Room is the restaurant at the heart of the Whitechapel Gallery -- one of London's most important contemporary art institutions, founded in 1901. The dining room is widely regarded as one of the best gallery restaurants in London, offering a seasonal menu of modern British dishes in a stylish, gallery-adjacent space that serves both gallery visitors and the wider Whitechapel community.
The kitchen champions seasonal and locally sourced British produce, with a menu that changes regularly to reflect the seasons and the cultural programme of the gallery. Brunch, lunch and afternoon snacks are served across the week, with the gallery's own events programme bringing occasional special dinners and evening events. An excellent coffee bar and cake counter operates throughout gallery opening hours. Open Tuesday to Sunday; closed Monday. Adjacent to Aldgate East tube station and the East London Mosque.
