About The Famous Curry Bazaar
The Famous Curry Bazaar is the Brick Lane restaurant of celebrity TV chef Atikur Rahman, whose restaurant goes by the affectionate name "My Village" -- a description that captures the warmth and homeliness of the Sylheti Bangladeshi cooking served here. One of only a handful of restaurants on Brick Lane focusing specifically on the dishes of the Sylhet region in northeast Bangladesh, from where the vast majority of British Bangladeshis originate, The Famous Curry Bazaar offers a more personal and authentic dining experience than the standard curry house fare of most of its neighbours.
The menu features Sylheti-influenced dishes including rare ingredients, nose-to-tail preparations and a healthy use of heat and spice. Diners are encouraged to engage with the food in the traditional way and are made to feel genuinely at home from the moment they arrive. Halal certified. Open daily for lunch and dinner. Close to Aldgate East tube and Shoreditch High Street Overground stations.
