Sichuan Folk is one of the most authentic Sichuan Chinese restaurants in London, a compact, unpretentious gem on Hanbury Street between Spitalfields Market and Brick Lane. The menu delivers the fiery, numbing flavours of Sichuan province at very reasonable prices: signature Sichuan hotpot, the famous boiled fish buried in a cauldron of chilli oil (a dish that costs double at West End Sichuan restaurants), gong bao chicken, ma po tofu, peng-peng crab, dry-fried green beans with pork, and a strong vegetarian selection.
