Pride of Spitalfields

The Pride of Spitalfields is one of the most genuinely unspoilt traditional pubs in East London -- a "supremely unpretentious" little boozer on Heneage Street just off Brick Lane that has miraculously continued to thrive while the neighbourhood around it has transformed beyond recognition. Selected by Londonist editors as a genuine gem of an authentic East End local, the Pride has a carpet (increasingly rare), a proper ceiling (not exposed ducting), affordable pints and a warm, community atmosphere that has nothing to prove and nothing to perform.

The pub serves well-kept cask ales from a traditional bar, alongside simple snacks. There is no gastro pretension here -- no small plates, no natural wine list, no projection mapping.
