Dosa World

Dosa World is a South Indian restaurant on Hanbury Street, just off Brick Lane in Spitalfields, East London. Specialising in the authentic cuisines of South India, the restaurant is a refreshing alternative to the North Indian and Bangladeshi curry houses that dominate the Brick Lane area, offering the delicate, complex flavours of Tamil Nadu and Kerala cooking.

The menu centres on freshly made dosas — thin, crispy South Indian crêpes made from fermented rice and lentil batter — served with sambar, coconut chutney and a variety of fillings including masala potato, paneer and mixed vegetables. Alongside dosas, the kitchen serves idli, vada, uttapam, thali meals and a range of South Indian rice dishes and curries. A daily chef's special is available at lunch. Open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday; closed Mondays. Close to Aldgate East tube station.
