Bar Valette

Bar Valette is a stylish European bistro that opened in 2025 on Shoreditch High Street, from Isaac McHale -- the chef behind the two-Michelin-starred Clove Club. Taking over the space previously occupied by Two Lights, Bar Valette represents a more casual, relaxed direction from McHale: a neighbourhood bistro drawing inspiration from France and Spain, named among Hot Dinners' best new restaurants of 2025.

The menu features rustic European fare seen through a Shoreditch lens: fried barbajuans (a Monegasque speciality) as a standout snack, Fabada bean stew, sharing plates and a carefully chosen European wine list. The cooking carries the same respect for produce and technique that made The Clove Club famous, but in a setting that invites lingering over a glass of wine rather than ceremony. Located in the same building as Brat and Smoking Goat. Open Tuesday to Saturday.
