About Yangtze River
Yangtze River is the Chinese takeaway on Brooms Road, the long residential artery running south-east out of central Dumfries towards the Crichton estate and the King George V playing fields. The shop sits in the parade of local-trade units near the junction with St Michael Street, well placed for the older terraced streets either side of the road as well as the housing further out toward Georgetown. It is a small-frontage takeaway rather than a sit-in restaurant, and the kitchen runs the standard British-Chinese repertoire — chow mein, curries, sweet and sour, salt and pepper dishes, set meals and fried-rice combinations — built for collection and delivery rather than table service.
The Brooms Road end of Dumfries is firmly residential and the Yangtze fills the gap between the High Street curry-house cluster and the further-out Locharbriggs shops; it tends to pick up the weeknight family trade from the surrounding streets and the early-evening takeaway run from drivers heading home down Brooms Road from the town centre. Online reviews on Tripadvisor and Restaurantji are limited but generally positive on portion size and value.
