Village Tandoori

Village Tandoori is one of the longer-established Indian takeaways in Dumfries, sitting on Annan Road — the long eastern arterial road that carries the A75 trade out toward Annan, Gretna and the M74. The shop has been trading at this end of the Royal Burgh for many years and presents itself as a family-run kitchen serving traditional north-Indian and Bangladeshi-style dishes for collection and local delivery rather than dine-in.

The menu sticks largely to the British-Indian curry-house template, with tandoori-grilled mains and a range of bhuna, jalfrezi, korma, madras, dhansak and rogan dishes alongside biryanis, breads and the usual sundries. The Annan Road end of town is residential and the shop's natural catchment runs into the housing either side of the road — toward Maxwell Street, Brooms Road and out as far as the Lockerbie Road junction.
