Filtree Catering

Filtree Catering trades from the Market Place in Codnor, the small village a couple of miles east of Ripley town centre on the Heanor road. The shop took on a former bookmaker's premises and has built up a long-standing local catering and sandwich-bar trade — primarily a daytime breakfast-and-lunch operation rather than an evening takeaway, with a large kitchen and prep space at the rear set up for outside catering work on top of the counter business.

The sandwich-bar menu covers the standard homemade breakfast plates, breakfast rolls and wraps, jacket potatoes, paninis and toasties, salad boxes and a regular changing run of cakes and cheesecakes baked in-house. The catering side handles buffet and afternoon-tea work for office and event bookings around the wider Amber Valley area, which the bigger kitchen at the back is built around. Hours are Monday to Saturday eight to two; the shop closes on Sundays.

It is the sort of village-Market-Place café that locals build a regular morning habit around, and one of very few daytime food options in central Codnor.
