Pizza Point

Pizza Point sits on Crown Square at the centre of Matlock, opposite the bus stops and a few steps from the bridge over the River Derwent. It is one of a small group of late-night pizza and kebab takeaways in the town, and trades hard at weekends to the post-pub crowd and the Premier Inn opposite.

The menu is the broad pizza-and-kebab format — pizzas in three sizes, doner and shish kebabs, burgers, garlic bread, wraps and a fried-chicken section, with a stack of meal-deal options. Pricing is on the lower end for Matlock, and online ordering is offered through the usual delivery aggregators as well as the shop's own number. Reviews are mixed: kebabs draw the warmer comments, with one regular calling them the best in Matlock, while pizza dough and naan have come in for criticism on some occasions.

The Food Standards Agency rated the kitchen 1 (major improvement necessary) at its April 2025 inspection, which is worth flagging to anyone weighing it up against the other Matlock pizza shops. Late-night trading carries through the small hours on Fridays and Saturdays.
