Agra Indian Cuisine sits along the upper end of Bath Street, the pedestrianised shopping street that forms the spine of central Ilkeston. It has built up a substantial regular following over more than a decade, with reviewers on Tripadvisor and Just Eat repeatedly describing the food as first-class and the flavours fuller than the cookie-cutter curry-house norm.

The menu runs the full British Indian repertoire — madras, vindaloo, rogan josh, bhuna, dopiaza, korma — along with a proper tandoori section, biryanis built around basmati rice rather than pilau, and house specials that lean into thicker, slower-cooked sauces. The starters get particular mention: the prawn puris, mixed kebabs and tandoori chicken tikka. Naans come out properly puffed from the tandoor, and the lamb dishes are the most frequently repeat-ordered.

Agra trades into the late evening every night bar Tuesday, when the kitchen takes its weekly day off. Most orders come through the website or by phone for delivery across Ilkeston, Cotmanhay, Shipley, Kirk Hallam, West Hallam and Awsworth; collection is straightforward too, and a number of long-term customers prefer to pick up themselves on the way back through town. Delivery can occasionally run slow on busy weekend nights, but the food itself is consistent.
