Mr Ts Pizza

Mr T's Pizza sits on Market Street in central Heanor, a couple of doors from Fellas Takeaway. It is a small independent pizza takeaway built around traditional double-deck stone-base pizza ovens — the shop makes a point of the cooking equipment on its own site — rather than the conveyor-belt set-ups some of the volume shops use.

The menu is pizza-led with the usual run-out of kebabs, burgers and southern-fried chicken on the side. The pizza list covers margherita through pepperoni, BBQ chicken, meat-feast, four-cheese, vegetarian and a long house-special section in three sizes. Online ordering through the shop's own website pulls a regular fifteen-per-cent discount on first orders and the operation is well set up for collection on the Market Street pitch with on-street parking outside.

The same operator now also runs the Pizza Roma site in Ripley under the Pizza Roma by Mr T's name, which suggests a kitchen team experienced enough to handle two pizza-shop sites. For central Heanor it is one of the obvious independent pizza options.
