Lang Cheer

Lang Cheer is a small Chinese takeaway on the London Road parade at Wilmorton, the older railway-housing stretch of south-east Derby that sits between Alvaston and the city centre — the area where the Baseball Ground, Derby County's ground until 1997, used to stand. The shop is a single-room collection and delivery operation working the standard British-Cantonese list of sweet and sour, chow mein, salt and pepper, fried rice and a long curry-sauce side, with set meals built around two- and four-person sharing boxes. Pricing sits at the affordable end and the catchment is the immediate Wilmorton and adjoining Allenton housing rather than passing London Road traffic.
