Mumbai Masala sits on Cressy Road in Alfreton, just off the town centre on the side that runs down towards Watchorn. The kitchen is a long-standing curry house with both a dining room and a takeaway counter, working through chicken bhuna, pilau rice and peshwari naan as standard alongside biryanis and a clearly marked vegetarian section that the kitchen takes seriously.

Reviews consistently flag the staff's attention to dietary requirements — vegan, gluten-free and chilli preferences are handled rather than apologised for — and the room itself trades as a sit-down restaurant in the evenings as well as a delivery kitchen. It's closed on Wednesdays and runs through to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, which fits the way most Alfreton couples and families use it, either for an evening out or as the regular Friday delivery. Alfreton Mumbai Masala Ltd took over the operating company in 2022, which broadly maps to the shop's current ownership.
