Star River

Star River is the Chinese-and-English takeaway on Front Street in the Grange Villa village area west of Chester-le-Street — the current trading name (the unit was previously known as Green Garden Chinese Takeaway at the same address). The kitchen pairs a Cantonese-British takeaway menu with chip-shop side items (an "English" section) — BBQ spare ribs, crispy chicken with sweet-and-sour chicken balls, chicken fried rice and house special chow mein run as the standard menu.

Grange Villa is a small ex-mining cluster a few miles west of Chester-le-Street with limited high-street infrastructure. Collection from Front Street.
