Salted chilli runs right through the starter list, with chicken balls, wings, squid, spare ribs, crab meat claws, onion rings, chips and boneless baby ribs all getting the treatment. The main menu is organised as a sauce grid rather than by protein: twenty-six house sauces, including XO, Mongolian, Japanese teriyaki, honey chilli, honey chilli and garlic wine, peking, and tomato with egg and scallion, each applied to your choice of meat. Alongside that sits a genuinely traditional Chinese spread of chop suey, foo yung, bamboo shoot and water chestnut, pineapple dishes, and Thai curries in seven varieties including squid. The unexpected section is the English one, which reads like a grill room: mixed grill, lamb chop, grilled liver and bacon, roast spring chicken, fried pork fillet and sausage supper. Chips come with gravy, curry, peas and onions in almost every combination, and duck is finished Cantonese style, with plum sauce, or So Chow.
