Golden Italy

Golden Italy on Stirling Street in Alva is a fish-and-chips and burgers shop serving the Hillfoots village with British fast-food staples. The Facebook page shows 94 per cent recommendation from ten reviews, and Just Eat carries around 300 ratings for the shop. The focus is traditional chippie fare — fish suppers, sausage suppers and the burger range that fills out the evening menu. Alva sits beneath Alva Glen, one of the deep cleuchs cutting into the Ochil Hills, which gives the village its distinctive backdrop. Stirling Street is the main east-west road through the village, and Golden Italy serves both local residents and the outdoor-recreation visitors who use the Ochils paths above the town.
