Wimpy Amersham

One of very few remaining Wimpy restaurants in Britain, the Amersham branch on Sycamore Road has survived while the wider chain retreated dramatically from the high street over the past thirty years. Wimpy's sit-down burger format — table service, proper cutlery, ketchup on the table, milkshakes served in tall glasses — is a direct throwback to the 1970s and 1980s, and the Amersham outlet draws visitors partly for the nostalgia. The menu covers burgers, grilled chicken, fish and chips and the signature Bender sausage in a bun, alongside a breakfast service from opening.
