Golden Wok

Golden Wok is a long-running Chinese takeaway on the western end of Carnoustie's High Street, a few minutes' walk from the central railway station and the start of the route down to the championship golf course. It runs the standard British-Cantonese template — chicken, beef and pork in the usual sauces, rice and noodle bases and set meals — through a collection-and-delivery operation rather than sit-in dining, with a delivery zone of about three miles that covers the bulk of the Carnoustie residential streets and out toward Newbigging and Panbride. The shop runs its own ordering app, which is unusual for an independent of this size on the Carnoustie High Street and gives it a more organised digital presence than the older Chinese operators in the wider east-Angus towns. It shares the local Chinese-takeaway catchment with the Indian and kebab operators at the central end of the High Street, and most of its trade is residential delivery and walk-in collection.
